We created the People's Theory from hundreds of dialogues with community members. The People's Theory is the frame for our knowledge production.
Community is not organized around geography, race, or ethnicity. It is about a way of thinking that builds cohesion.
Culture is about knowledge systems and, ways of knowing.
CWC's People's Theory
Our People's Theory, developed by speaking with hundreds of people from many different cultural groups, says that
Individualism and loss of community and culture make us sick.
The People's Theory informs how we define issues such as "racial disparities" in health, economic status and education. Loss of culture and community have produced disastrous effects that only reconnection to these vital resources can heal and reverse.
